No, it’s not child care – why would it be deductible? The only child care that’s deductible is a payment to allow you to work. You’d have a real hard time convincing the auditor that in the time your child was at their piano lesson, you dropped them off, went to work, put in your work day, and got back to pick up your child.
No. Child care is limited to care provided so you can work or go to school. Unfortunately, the only type of tuition that is tax deductible is post high school education.
From your information, these lessons are not deductible. They are not part of a child care program.
